Matthew Burt Goalkeeping

Matthew Burt Goalkeeping was set up in 2010 by goalkeeping coach Matthew Burt.

We are based in Ashford (Kent) and provide a variety of coaching services, specialising in the art of goalkeeping. All services can be found under our services section.

The goalkeeper is arguably the most important position on the field of play. The goalkeeper is the last line of defence, but the also the first line of attack. The position requires many skills including handling, decision making, speed, agility, athleticism, confidence, bravery and good communication skills etc.

All sessions are catered to meet the needs of the goalkeepers taking part. Athletes must be developed appropriately with regards to age and ability, and this is something we follow and make sure we plan sessions around. Planning is a major part of the coaching process, and meticulous effort goes into planning every training session. We maintain professional standards throughout, whether it is the professional equipment being used to conduct the coaching sessions, or the clothing being worn by the coach. We aim to make training sessions as enjoyable as possible, without sacrificing learning by the goalkeeper.
